[edit] Duplicate images uploaded
Thanks for uploading Image:La Quinta Esencia cover back.jpg. A machine-controlled robot account noticed that you also uploaded the same image under the name Image:La Quinta Esencia back.jpg. The copy called Image:La Quinta Esencia back.jpg has been marked for speedy deletion since it is redundant. If this sounds okay to you, there is no need for you to take any action.
This is an automated message- you have not upset or annoyed anyone, and you do not need to respond. In the future, you may save yourself some confusion if you supply a meaningful file name and refer to 'my contributions' to remind yourself exactly which name you chose (file names are case sensitive, including the extension) so that you won't lose track of your uploads. For tips on good file naming, see Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions about this notice, or feel that the deletion is inappropriate, please contact User:Staecker, who operates the robot account. Staeckerbot (talk) 02:30, 7 January 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Orphaned non-free media (Image:El Sello De Los Tiempos.jpg)
Thanks for uploading Image:El Sello De Los Tiempos.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 06:16, 15 January 2008 (UTC)
[edit] El Sello De Los Tiempos album cover
I was wondering why you keep removing the album cover from the El Sello De Los Tiempos article and replacing it with one that doesn't meet the fair use rationale (image size)? Esradekan Gibb "Talk" 10:47, 17 January 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Edit summaries
Hello. Please don't forget to provide an edit summary. Thank you.
I notice you virtually never include edit summaries with your changes. It is recommended practice and in my experience not doing so makes it more likely another editor will revert changes so I encourage you to do it. Ros0709 (talk) 11:05, 20 January 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Jaus Records.jpg
Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Jaus Records.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. [edit] Notability of Skizoo
A tag has been placed on Skizoo requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be about a real person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. If this is the first page that you have created, then you should read the guide to writing your first article.
If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.
For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Corvus cornixtalk 06:27, 27 January 2008 (UTC)
Welcome to Wikipedia. Please do not remove speedy deletion tags from pages that you have created yourself, as you did with Skizoo. If you do not believe the page should be deleted, then please place {{hangon}} on the page (please do not remove any existing speedy deletion tag) and make your case on the page's talk page. Administrators will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do with the page. Thank you. Corvus cornixtalk 06:44, 27 January 2008 (UTC)
I'm not an admin and I didn't delete anything. It was deleted by Pegasus. I had already decided that, despite no real claims of notability, I was going to sidestep out of the discussion. Corvus cornixtalk 21:14, 27 January 2008 (UTC)
- I don't know Pegasus personally, but since he/she deleted the article, they must be an admin, because only admins can delete articles. You ought to discuss this with them at User:Pegasus's Talk page. Corvus cornixtalk 21:30, 27 January 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Logos and flags
Read the Template:Infobox musical artist guidelines and discussions. No Logos in the infobox. Also read WP:MOSFLAG. No flags in infoboxes. These 2 rules have been quoted in previous edit summaries. Please read them. 156.34.217.154 (talk) 02:29, 31 January 2008 (UTC)
- Read the guideline. "Text-only" field. And if you see any logos in any other articles. Remove them. Dream Theater has no logo. 156.34.217.154 (talk) 08:47, 31 January 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:MANUEL RAMIL on Pamplona (On concert).jpg
Thank you for uploading Image:MANUEL RAMIL on Pamplona (On concert).jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 19:59, 31 January 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Incorrect formatting
Read the rules and guidelines for Template:Infobox musical artist. Years without specific dates do not get wikilinked. Just read the guidelines so that you won't make so many mistakes. 156.34.213.34 (talk) 23:24, 3 February 2008 (UTC)
- The only thing that goes in the Years field is Years. Not other superfluous text is allowed. 156.34.213.34 (talk) 23:29, 3 February 2008 (UTC)
- Not sure. The key function of the infobox is to avoid superfluity, avoid fine details, be general. If the 92-94, 96-98 years were side project years... then they aren't really years that apply directly to the subject named in the article title. And I notice the history section makes no reference to them and starts at 2001. So those years don't apply in the Years field as per the guidelines. I also noticed that you have the band member names linked and bold in the Band member section. This is also not proper formatting as per WP:MOS-L. All those names are already linked earlier in the article. A name or word only needs to be linked once in an article. And the instruments don't get linked because they are just common words and don't need linking to support the subject matter. You should clean that section up next time you're editing the page. Read WP:MUSTARD. It provides guidelines for editing music related articles and making them look right. And read WP:MOS which gives all the editing style rules for all Wiki articles. 156.34.213.34 (talk) 23:53, 3 February 2008 (UTC)
I always quote a policy or guideline in all my edit summaries. You can always just follow thise links to find out where it went wrong. If the demo was recorded in 1997 then that should be added, with a reference, to the the main body of the article. 156.34.213.34 (talk) 00:08, 4 February 2008 (UTC)

- Undo your Portal Rush edits. On Wikipedia the correct link is Rush (band) because the common word "rush" has dozens of meanings and is a disambiguous link. Your Portal edits have just screwed up a whole bunch of wikilinks. You will have to undo your damage or I will have to get an admistrator to revert it for you. Please be more careful next time. 156.34.213.34 (talk) 00:12, 4 February 2008 (UTC)
What does "it wasn't a band but they made a recording" mean? 156.34.213.34 (talk) 00:31, 4 February 2008 (UTC)
- Then I would suggest a short "pre WarCry" section at the start of the article history section to explain the origins and projects that would eventually become the band. Nothing to detailed... no text that shows any 'opinions' that might look like original research. You are familiar with the subject. The history section just seems to jump right in at 2001 so it would really make the article flow a little better with a brief background anyways. 156.34.213.34 (talk) 00:41, 4 February 2008 (UTC)
Apologies, didn't notice that paragraph. It's out of place in the introduction. Read WP:LEAD. I would move it down into the History section. The article is in need of a copyedit/style/grammar overview. It reads a bit more like a magazime article and less like an encyclpedia article. Encyclopedia articles should be dry and... well... boring... if you catch my meaning. No adjectives. Before any "Wikifying" is done best to get the parts in the right place. It's a It's a decent article about a banda I had nver heard of up until I stumbled across the Logo/Flag/formatting problems. It has perked my interest enough I will try and find some of their music to listen to. 156.34.213.34 (talk) 00:56, 4 February 2008 (UTC)
- I am getting ready to sign out for the day. I know a few good copyeditors who can help. I will see if any of them want to work as a team to perk the page up a little. Wikipedia works much better as a community than as a single editor. And Wikipedia wasn't built in a day either. It will all get done in time. Together we can make this page convey all the required information... and still look like an encyclopedia article and not an amateur fansite. 156.34.213.34 (talk) 01:27, 4 February 2008 (UTC)

Hi Rockk3r. Regarding Pablo García (musician): on Wikipedia, we are not permitted to move pages by cutting-and-pasting because it splits the article's edit histories that are important for attribution and many other things. [edit] Replaceable fair use Image:WarCry (band).jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:WarCry (band).jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the media description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.
- On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.
If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. ˉˉanetode╦╩ 04:08, 8 February 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Fair use rationale for images.
Dude, I recommend you take a little time and have a read of the fair use rationale for images, especially the resolution section. The guidelines are there for a reason, please follow them. If you've got any problems with the guidelines, there are plenty of administrators out there willing to help. Also may I point you to the article ownership page. Some of your edits, especially in relation to some images, come across as you find it hard to let go, and that you have to get your name on to every edit on a page, even if it means removing a perfectly good edit from someone else. You might want to take some time out to read the guidelines, and the comments on your own talk page and just ask yourself what it is you're trying to achieve here.

[edit] Speedy deletion of DarkSun
A tag has been placed on DarkSun requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a band, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for musical topics.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. [edit] DarkSun
You asked for my help in saving this article. I did decline the speedy deletion, because, in my opinion, the assertion that the band had released albums meant that it was not a good candidate for speedy deletion. I don't have strong feelings one way or the other on whether or not the an article on the band should exist. I can give you some advice though. The problem that this article faces is that it lacks sources that are independent of the subject of the article. You may feel that the band would not lie on their homepage, but the sad fact is that some people do lie in order to make themselves seem more important. Given that, we cannot trust statements people make about themselves in order to establish whether or not a band, person or group is notable enough to have a wikipedia article. The article states that the band has had well recieved albums and tours. If this is so then there must be reviews and articles documenting that. If you can find references, then article may be able to be saved. If the band has won awards, and you can document that then the article will almost certainly be saved. I notice that the article does not mention that what label the band's albums were released on. If it was major or large label, then the band will almost certainly pass the notability criteria. If they were self released, then it will make it much harder for the band to do so. Please note, that the sources do not have to be on the internet, so long as they are publicly available. Nor do have to be in English, although a comparable English source is prefered over a non-English source. Please also note that if you cannot assemble the references before the AfD ends and the article is deleted, once you have found the references it will be possible to start a new article with the references. Good luck. Dsmdgold (talk) 03:40, 13 February 2008 (UTC)
- If they have large record label, by all means list it in the article, and bring it up at the AfD. The fact that we don't have an article on the label does not mean that it isn't significant. We have an institutional bias towards things in English speaking countries. Does the German wikipedia have an article on the label? Articles and reviews of the band will help greatly also. Dsmdgold (talk) 04:06, 13 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Cut and paste moves
It appears that you recently copied the contents of a page and pasted it into another with a different name. This is what we call a "cut and paste move", and it is very undesirable because it splits the article's history, which is needed for attribution and is helpful in many other ways. The mechanism we use for renaming articles is to move it to a new name which both preserves the page's history and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. In most cases, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page. If there is an article that you cannot move yourself by this process, follow the instructions at Wikipedia:Requested moves to request the move by another. Also, if there are any other articles that you copied and pasted, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Cut and paste move repair holding pen. Please note that my reversion of you edits was to preseve the article history in one place and does not indicate my support for either location. Thanks, mattbr 19:48, 18 March 2008 (UTC)
- I have reverted your 'move' to keep future edits associated with the past edits made to the article. We are required to attribute all those who have contributed to an article under the terms of the licence the site uses, and we do this by maintaining the article history in one place, which would be possible in this case with the assistance of an administrator. Fixing histories split by cut and paste moves also requires an administrator, but it can be much harder to perform and sometimes it can be detrimental to the article history (providing the 'history merge' can be performed. If you wish for the article (and this includes the associated history) to be moved, please discuss the issue on the article talk page and use the process at Wikipedia:Requested moves. Thanks, mattbr 20:10, 18 March 2008 (UTC)

In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
Thank you. MECU≈talk 14:14, 21 March 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Believe in Nothing (Nevermore).jpg

[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:Victor Garcia on Pamplona.jpg
Thank you for uploading Image:Victor Garcia on Pamplona.jpg.
Ricky81682 (talk) 05:17, 6 April 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Orphaned non-free media (Image:Jaus Records.jpg)
Thanks for uploading Image:Jaus Records.jpg.
Thank you. BJBot (talk) 12:25, 7 April 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Speedy deletion of The Metal Observer
A tag has been placed on The Metal Observer, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion debate, such as at articles for deletion. Under the specified criteria, where an article has substantially identical content to that of an article deleted after debate, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. asenine t/c 01:20, 8 April 2008 (UTC)
- The rather recent deletion discussion was about lack of sources about The Metal Observer itself, not about lack of reviews by The Metal Observer in Wikipedia. Since the article doesn't seem to address that, I've moved the draft into your user page at User:Rockk3r/The Metal Observer. If you can remedy these issues you may want to contact the closer of the AfD Moonriddengirl or myself before moving it back. Cheers. --Tikiwont (talk) 12:35, 8 April 2008 (UTC)
[edit] AfD nomination of Sauze (band)
I have nominated Sauze (band), an article you created, for deletion. I do not feel that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Sauze (band). Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time. [edit] WarCry
In Spanish (as much in the titles as in the text) only the words that are "nombres propios" (names like John, Carl, Einstein, etc.), and first of each oration, must initiate with capital letter. The question is in what you are based to revert my changes? In addition, you have corrupted the history (something necessary so that the GFDL is fulfilled) when not moving the article well.
[edit] Waiting for the Dawn (album)
This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Waiting for the Dawn (album), and it appears to include a substantial copy of http://www.progressiveworld.net/kotipelto3.html. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences.
This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. [edit] Replaceable fair use Image:WarCry (2007).jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:WarCry (2007).jpg.
[edit] The Metal Observer
Hey there. I've reverted your changes to the Metal Observer article. Here's the explanation.
- The article was deleted in the past. The assertion of notability should be placed in the lead section to help ensure that this does not happen again.
- As far as I know, Alexander Melzer has no notability outside of running The Metal Observer so an article on him for wikipedia is highly unlikely. Hence, there's no need to wikilink his name or even mention it in the lead section.
- "Every kind of rock and metal" falls under peacock terms and is also inaccurate. The magazine does not cover indie rock, punk rock, folk rock and a multitude of other rock genres. It specialises in heavy metal music and that's it. There is also no reason to remove the word heavy from metal either.
- There is no significance to any of the dates mentioned in the article and hence, no reason to wikilink any of them per the guideline on wikipedia.
- Your edit has screwed up the references by removing a couple of citations and creating an unnecessary duplication of another one. You also provided the wrong citation to the information regarding the site's cooperation with other magazines. I see no reason either to remove the citation templates.
- Your edit has also resulted in a duplication of the statement regarding where the contributors are from.
- The magazine publishes in both the German and English languages and I am perplexed as to why you would remove mention of this. Another effect that this edit of yours has had is to remove the context from the statement "the magazine continues to publish in both languages." Readers are not going to know what both languages mean if you remove mention of the German language from the article.
I hope you understand now why I've removed the changes you made and I hope you would refrain from changing them back again. Thank you. --Bardin (talk) 03:03, 7 June 2008 (UTC)
