In Rocky R. Twitchell's early years he studied under a Savate Instructor named Shane Milone'.Taking Savate to stop bieng picked on by bullies at High School was his main reason for taking the lessons given by Shane Milone', but those Savate lessons would be the foundation for many other Instructors in the years to come. Once Rocky learned a few concepts from the Art of Savate, (basically just stand up to the bullies) they would eventully leave him alone. By his Junior year in High School he had the confidence to stand up for himself and he had the confidence to stand up for others if they were picked on by bullies. The High School also had Boxing during Physical Education once a year and his skills from Savate plus the Boxing from P.E., planted a seed in his mind that would slowly grow to training along side World Boxing Champions and World Class Martial Arts Instructors.Graduating from High School he found himself living with his Father in Southern Utah. Once he moved in with his Father and found a place to hang his punching bag the rest was History. Rocky R Twitchell boxed in Utah, Arizona (sparring partner for Louie " The Sharp shooter" Espinoza) Nevada, Ohio, and California.Retired from Boxing he looked for Martial Arts that would compliment his Boxing skills. He found them at Elk Grove Martial Arts Academy in California. Rocky R Twitchell trained with Shihan Pat Kelley and Hanshi Bruce Juchnik of Kosho Ryu Kempo Karate for over 12 years.He also trains with Guru Danny Inosanto of the Inosanto Academy in Los Angeles as often as possible. He currently is an Insructor under Sifu Larry Hartsell, and also studies under Rick Faye of the Minnesota Kali Group out of Minnesota. Rocky R Twitchell also studies, Brazilain Ju-jitsu, Mata sa bagyo under Carlito Bonjoc and other Filipino groups in Stockton and Sacramento and Pencak Silat the highly effective Martial Art from Indonesia. Rocky R Twitchell also belongs to the Mande Muda organization, the Nepal pencak Silat association and Vovinam Viet Vo Daowith Master Lihn Thai of Seattle.Recently Liahona Warrior Arts joined the Association of Pencak Silat America ( A.O.P.S.A) Rocky R. Twitchell performs every year at the Annual Indonesian Independace Day Celebration in San Francisco and many other Indonesian Festivals in Sacramento. Rocky R Twitchell has never forgoting his roots and respects all styles of Martial Arts. He currently has his own Martial Arts Organization called " Liahona Warrior Arts: Research and Development" And teaches Private Martial Arts and Boxing Lessons in Sacramento and at his Fathers Boxing Gym titled " T-5 Boxing" in Grass Valley, CA. His Fathers Gym is a 1 level building with a Boxing Ring, wieght room and plenty of Boxing equipment and Coaches for the up-coming Boxing Champ. The "Triple Threat" known as : Rocky Twitchell Sr.,Rocky Twitchell Jr., and Logan Twitchell ,assist in operating the 2 Gyms.
