[edit] History
The Metal Observer went online on May 1, 2000 (the English version on May 26, 2000). It's an international enterprise, with contributors and translators in Germany, the USA, Canada, Austria, the Netherlands, France, Scotland, Ireland, Finland, Norway, Peru and the Faroe Isles. In May, 2001 established co-operations with magazines in Argentina, Brazil and Chile.
It doesn't concentrate in any specific metal genre, with critical reviews, articles, and extensive interviews, making no difference between a million seller and an absolute underground band. By this time has around 23000 pages online, more than 8000 album reviews, more than 5100 links, 4200 mp3s, and 9400 tablatures, with contributors in 12 countries.
