[edit] Possible AHL team
Let me stress that the current UHL IceHogs are not "moving up" or being promoted to the AHL. The potential AHL deal is a replacement with an existing dormant AHL franchise that would acquire the naming rights of the UHL team. The AHL is not expanding, and I would assume that the UHL franchise would move, go dormant, or dissolve. If this deal comes through there will be two distinct wiki articles for two distinct franchises. ccwaters 14:58, 15 February 2007 (UTC)
Hmmm... I'm not sure I agree. So are you going to include them on the same page as the Cincinnati Mighty Ducks, since it is the same "franchise" but with a different name? When the Komets moved from the IHL to the UHL, I'm pretty sure they technically became a different franchise, even if they kept the same owners and team name. Yet their history is contained all on one page. The K-Wings have a similar situation. The Flint Generals handle it more like you suggest, although I don't see an separate article for their old IHL franchise. In either case, I added the Icehogs' UHL season-by-season results, as we are about to close the book on that chapter, no matter whether we split the article or not.12.206.30.244 02:35, 17 April 2007 (UTC)
- I believe the proposal would be to create two Rockford IceHogs articles such as Rockford IceHogs and Rockford IceHogs (UHL) Flibirigit 02:50, 17 April 2007 (UTC)
- Are we going to clean up this article then? I'm not sure a lot of the information specific to this season belongs, and also things like the phrase "Icehogs will supply players to the Milwaukee Admirals" don't really make sense now. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 12.206.30.244 (talk) 03:20, 17 April 2007 (UTC).
- Yes, changes will be made at a future date when more information is available. Please feel free to make changes now if you would like. Flibirigit 09:33, 18 April 2007 (UTC)
