- Surfing : Rocker refers to the curvature on the bottom of a surfboard, skimboard, bodyboard, or Wakeboard. When looking at the board from the side, a board with a lot of curvature is said to have "a lot of rocker". Rocker can also be concentrated in the nose or tail of the board, in which case it is said to have "nose rocker" or "tail rocker". There exists three main types of rockers for wakeboards. Continuous, Continuous Progressive, and Three-Stage. Some riders may use one style of rocker for a specific type of boarding. (i.e. A wakeboard with a Three-Stage rocker on it means that the middle section of the board is flat, thus giving the rider more length in their "pop" across the wake. That length of "pop" may be more difficult to attain while using any other type of rocker)
