From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Rocky Sullivan's is a New York City Irish style pub opened in 1996 by musician Chris Byrne (Seanchai and the Unity Squad, Black 47 and Paddy-A-Go-Go) and journalist Patrick Farrelly (HBO's Left of the Dial, Irish Voice, Michael Moore's TV Nation).
Entertainment includes authors' readings on Mondays, a pub quiz on Thursdays, live music on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Authors readings have drawn enthusiastic crowds and top flight writers, including Roddy Doyle, Frank McCourt, Edna O'Brien, Pete Hamill, Rosemary Breslin, Jimmy Breslin, and Mike Lupica.
Rocky Sullivan's has long been a favorite of Celtic F.C. fans.
"Satire for Sanity", a comedy review no longer scheduled, had drawn performers like Barry Crimmins, A. Whitney Brown, Will Durst, Jimmy Tingle, Randy Credico, Jello Biafra, Reno and Warren Thomas.
Rocky Sullivan's has relocated to Red Hook, Brooklyn, on the corner of Dwight and Van Dyke from its original location at East 29th Street and Lexington Avenue in Manhattan.
