"Rocky Mountain Way" is a 1973 song by rock guitarist Joe Walsh and also a 1985 compilation album by Walsh which features the song.

The song was released in 1973 on the album The Smoker You Drink, The Player You Get. It bears many similarities to a track by Sly & The Family Stone called Sex Machine, from their 1969 album Stand!, including several vocal and instrumental motifs (as well as being in the same key), the use of a processed vocal (accomplished mainly via an effect named the talk box, but possibly backed with mouth organ, synthesizer and a harmonium), and the overall feel (and 6/8 meter) of the song, with 2 guitars playing the solo.[citation needed] Ironically, "Rocky Mountain Way"'s chorus would later be borrowed by Steve Miller Band's 1977 song "The Stake."[citation needed]

In 1990, Walsh played an eight-minute version in the Ringo Starr's All Starr Band, starting with a slide arrangement of "Amazing Grace."

The 1985 album Rocky Mountain Way features previously unreleased, singles and alternatives tracks from So What to Got Any Gum?, as well as the title song.

In 1977, hard rock band Triumph covered this song on their Rock and Roll Machine album.

In 2005, heavy metal artist Ozzy Osbourne covered this song in his Under Cover compilation album.

Stephen Stills of Crosby, Stills, and Nash often plays the song live.

The Colorado Rockies baseball team plays the song over the loudspeakers at Coors Field immediately following the conclusion of any home victory.

Was released on The Music of Grand Theft Auto IV soundtrack that came with GTA Special Editions April 29, 2008.
