The Rocky Mountain Showdown is an annual American football college rivalry between the University of Colorado Buffaloes and the Colorado State University Rams. The winner of the game receives the Centennial Cup. The series began in 1893 and played annually (with a few exceptions) until 1958. The series was resurrected in 1983 and played periodically until it was cemented as an annual rivalry in 1995. Until then it was a long series, rather than a rivalry, as CU has dominated the series, 58-19-2. The Colorado Buffaloes are in the Big 12 Conference, while the Colorado State Rams compete in the Mountain West Conference.

The game is usually played in INVESCO Field at Mile High in Denver, Colorado, although the 2004 and 2005 games were played at Folsom Field in Boulder. In January of 2006, CU and CSU agreed to a five year deal which will continue the game through 2010. Under the agreement, the game will be played in Denver at Invesco Field only in 2006, 2007 and 2008. Colorado will retain the right to host the game in Boulder in the fourth year of the deal in 2009, and if CU chooses to do so, it would give CSU the right to host the game in Fort Collins in the fifth year, 2010.[1]

In 2007, the Rocky Mountain Showdown was played on Saturday, September 1st at 10:00 AM Mountain Time. The Colorado Buffaloes defeated the Colorado State Rams in overtime by a score of 31-28.

Colorado victories are shaded ██ gold. Colorado State victories shaded in ██ green.
