Rockne S. O'Bannon

Rockne S. O'Bannon (born January 12, 1955) is a television producer and writer. He is the creator of the science fiction movie Alien Nation, television shows seaQuest DSV, The Triangle and Farscape. Married to Liana, and has one daughter Kelly (19), and two sons Eric (15) and Charles (8) - all three adopted from Russia in 1995 and 2000. Resides in California, USA.

O'Bannon wrote his first short story at the age of 12, and had it published in his local newspaper. He grew up in a home influenced by the film industry. The son of a gaffer, he was surrounded by film from his birth. His father worked on various films with Frank Sinatra, and his mother was a professional dancer who performed with Fred Astaire. O'Bannon's first professional piece was published when he was 19 after he graduated from high school. His daughter Kelly wishes to follow in his footsteps by contributing to the film industry through composing film score. He is currently working on several new projects that will premiere spring 2008.
