[edit] Production
In May 2007, director Guy Ritchie announced the production of RocknRolla, a film similar to his previous films, Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels (1998) and Snatch (2000). RocknRolla, written by Guy Ritchie, will be produced by Joel Silver's Dark Castle Entertainment and distributed by Warner Bros..[6] The following June, Ritchie hired the cast for RocknRolla, and filming began on location in London on June 19, 2007.[1]
On Wednesday March 25, 2008 Thandie Newton, the film's leading actress was quoted saying "'RocknRolla' is one of three films and Guy's keen to get going on that straight away. [The second and third films in the series] are going to be excellent. I can't wait".
