Rocklands House is an Edwardian house in Oadby, Leicester, which is currently part of Beaumont Hall, a Halls of Residence for the University of Leicester.

[edit] History

Construction Rocklands House began in 1902, for the brickmaker William Barrow[1]. Many of the houses built in this area at this time were built by rich Leicester businessmen, but Rocklands was one of the first. Some time after its construction, the chimney stacks were removed.

It was acquired by the University after World War II, and incorporated into the Botanic Gardens. It now houses up to 23 all male residents.
