Rockfort Express

The Rockfort express(6178/6177) is a night express train that connectsTiruchirapalli(Trichy) and Chennai in India.It departs from Trichy at 22 20 Hours and reaches Chennai at 05 15 Hours.It starts around 22 30 Hours from Chennai Egmore and reaches the Tiruchirapalli Jn around 05 20 hours. It is the most popular train for people travelling between Trichy and Chennai at night time.This train takes more than 7 hours to cover Trichy to Chennai Egmore ,it is a train that belongs to the mail category and not the superfast category. The extension of this train to Kumbakonam is named as rockfort link express(6178A/6177A).
