"Rock with U" was made available for sale through the U.S. iTunes Store on February 5, 2008 along with a pre-order offer for her tenth studio album, Discipline.[1] The song was serviced to rhythmic crossover radio stations on February 11, 2008 and was released to Mainstream Top 40 radio stations on February 26, 2008.[2]
[edit] Music video
Jackson singing and dancing in the music video in a club during a party.
The music video, directed by Saam Farahmand, premiered on BET's Access Granted on March 5, 2008.[3][4] The video features Jackson having a party inside a club with red and white rays of light entering the room. Throughout the video, Jackson and a group of dancers perform complex dance routines. The video starts stylistically very different for any artist as you do not actually see Janet until 45 seconds into the video. The camera slowly creeps through the club while the dancers around move synchroniously with the music. The entire video appears to be done in one take as there are no obvious cuts although there are dark scenes in the hallway between two of the club's dance rooms where a cut may have taken place.
