[edit] Background

The 8-part first series [1], filmed during summer 2007 to Autumn 2007 and was delivered to ITV in Spring 2008. Michelle Collins said on Loose Women on 4th July that it would be filmed over a 4 month schedule and would probably air in January or February 2008.

On July 2, 2007, it was announced that former EastEnders actress, Michelle Collins and ex Coronation Street actor, Sean Gallagher have both been cast for the lead roles of characters, Karina Faith (Collins) and her husband Mal (Gallagher).[2] Filming was Dublin, Ireland.

Rock Rivals finally wrapped on Stage B of Ardmore Studios in Bray on Friday the 16th of November. Two alternative endings were filmed of the final episode. The viewing public will get to vote for their favourite finalist, and the appropriate version will be aired.[3]

[edit] Plot

As Bad Girls portrayed life in a women's prison, Footballers' Wives on the sordid world of sex-and-football and Waterloo Road followed the lives of teachers and pupils of a failing comprehensive school, Rock Rivals follows the lives, trial and tribulations of two celebrity judges on a X Factor style show as their marriage falls apart. Simon Cowell [4] has joined forces with Shed Media to produce the new show.[5]
