Rock Island High School, also known as "Rocky", is a public four-year high school located in Rock Island, Illinois. Rocky is in Rock Island School District 41, and the school colors are crimson and gold.

[edit] Justin Sharp

The Justin Sharp Memorial Shootout is named in honor of Justin Sharp, a former player at Rock Island High School. Justin died December 12, 2003 after a battle with leukemia. As a junior, Justin earned numerous awards such as: All-State Honorable Mention (IBCA), First Team All-Western Big 6, All-Metro (Rock Island Argus), Team Tri-Captain, Co-MVP, Best Defensive Player, Mr. Hustle, and Most Improved. Since his death, the Rock Island program has instituted the Justin Sharp 3-D Award. This award is presented to the player who best portrays Justin's 3 "D's" of Dedication, Desire, and Determination. Along with this award, the recipient receives a scholarship from Justin's Memorial Fund. The Davenport Central Program presents the Justin Sharp Passion Award to the player that best exemplified his passion to succeed. In addition, there is also a scholarship awarded to Quad City area students in Justin's honor that is funded by his Memorial Fund. The donation from this tournament goes directly to Justin's Memorial.
