[edit] History
RockFood Music was begun informally in 2003 by Mark Elmore and John Helps with the pair running a number of low-key live music events in their hometown of Worcester and at their university in Leicester. By 2004 they were running a regular monthly night at The Attik in Leicester, as well as occasional shows at venues elsewhere in the country. Mark moved to Nottingham in 2006, leaving John to formerly establish the business. The company has grown steadily since, promoting shows from Reuben, Sepultura, Sikth, Oceansize, Jeniferever, Youthmovies and Foals - amongst many others.
In 2007 RockFood Music began printing the RockFood magazine, which has gained a readership of around 4,000.
[edit] Club Nights
The company's first club-night, Make-Out Club was launched in December 2005, and ran for a year and a half. The night played predominantly Punk and Emo music, eventually becoming a part of Panic, a much larger night which launched in January 2007. RockFood Music's third clubnight, Animator will launch in October 2007.
[edit] Robot Needs Home
RockFood released a number of short run CDR recordings by bands such as To What End, Two Minute Warning and Maybeshewill between 2004 and 2006. Eventually it was decided to operate this part of the business under a different name, and Robot Needs Home was formed to look after these interests.
