Rochester International Jazz Festival
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Established in 2002, the Rochester International Jazz Festival takes place in June of each year, in Rochester, New York.
The festival is held at multiple venues throughout the downtown Rochester area, including the Eastman Theatre [1], Kilbourn Hall at the Eastman School of Music, a church (a new addition in 2007), a large tent venue, and a number of clubs within walking distance of "Jazz Street" (otherwise known as Gibbs during the rest of the year), which is closed off for the duration. In addition, free concerts are presented on three outdoor stages.
In 2007, attendance was estimated at a record 120,000 for the 170+ concerts presented.[1]
