Rocco Laurie Intermediate School

The Rocco Laurie Intermediate School refers to New York City Intermediate School 72 in Staten Island, New York. The school is located on Ferndale Avenue in Heartland Village, Staten Island. Heartland Village is part of New Springville, Staten Island. The school opened in 1975 and has served approximately 2000 students annually. Stanley Katzman was the school's first principal. The current principal is Peter Macellari.
The school is structured in a way where each floor is divided by the foreign language the student takes (typically students are grouped in classes by the foreign language elective they choose). The first floor for Italian, the second and fourth floor for Spanish, and the third floor for mostly Spanish, but some french. Next year, French will be eliminated and German will be added. Each floor has its own set of AP's and deans.

The school was named after New York City Police Officer Rocco Laurie. They have also dedicated a school song to him.

The school's colors are orange and blue. The mascot for the school is the bulldog.
