A daguerreotype of the United States Capitol in 1846, with the original green copper dome as designed by Charles Bulfinch. Over time, extensions to both the north and south wings, made to accommodate the addition of new states to the Union, made the dome aesthetically displeasing, and as a result, it was replaced by a white cast iron dome which was completed in 1866. - OK, not straightly vandalism, though it would have been better to address the situation first on the talkpage, this looked a bit like spam, sorry for that. The references tag had an error, it read <references>, but it should read <references /> (so with the trailing /) .. I have repaired it. Again, sorry, and happy editing --Dirk Beetstra T C 19:47, 2 February 2007 (UTC)
Thank you no harm done --Robin63 19:54, 2 February 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Adoption complete
Hi Robin,
I have completed the adoption. I am happy to answer any questions - and as you have some experience you may like to know that I can help review work as well. Look forward to hearing your first questions. Cheers Lethaniol 22:32, 7 February 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Sandbox
Hi Robin,
Actually the best way to make new articles - would be to make them under your user page using a sub page - that way you know where it is and it is yours do as you please (mostly). So for example lets say you wanted to make an article on "Killer penguins". Either write User:Robin63/Killer penguins in the GO tab, and create the article with new content, or write http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Robin63/Killer penguins in the browser url bar. Note the forward slash makes it a subpage, and you can have subpages of subpages. See Wikipedia:Subpages.
So to carry on the example here is the Killer penguins start for an article - User:Robin63/Killer penguins
Hope that is all clear, if not shout. Cheers Lethaniol 14:15, 12 February 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Welcome to the Military history WikiProject!
Hi, and welcome to the Military history WikiProject! As you may have guessed, we're a group of editors working to improve Wikipedia's coverage of topics related to military history.
A few features that you might find helpful:
- Our navigation box points to most of the useful pages within the project.
- The announcement and open task box is updated very frequently. You can watchlist it if you're interested; or, you can add it directly to your user page by including {{WPMILHIST Announcements}} there.
- Most important discussions take place on the project's main discussion page; it is highly recommended that you watchlist it.
- The project has several departments, which handle article quality assessment, peer review, and project-wide collaboration.
- We have a number of task forces that focus on specific topics, nations, periods, and conflicts.
- We've developed a variety of guidelines for article structure and content, template use, categorization, and other issues that you may find useful.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask one of the project coordinators, or any experienced member of the project, and we'll be happy to help you. Again, welcome! We look forward to seeing you around! Kirill Lokshin 05:43, 13 February 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Infobox
Hi I think I have fixed infobox - see talk page of article for my comments. Also point to remember for all articles - they should not read like adverts - strictly facts. Any value judgements must be either quotes or referenced. Good luck. Cheers Lethaniol 15:16, 13 February 2007 (UTC)
[edit] cvgproj
You must not put templates such as this on the article page, but instead put them on the discussion page. --Tagishsimon (talk)
Right, sorry about that.--Robin63 16:47, 18 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Alexander Parkes
It appears that some months ago you placed a cleanup tag on this page. Could you give a hint at the problems you saw in its talk page? For future reference if you mention these things in the Wikipedia:Cleanup page at the same time then more people might be made aware of the problem. Thanks Ephebi 11:58, 2 August 2007 (UTC)
