[edit] Welcome

Hello, Robbo james, and welcome to Wikipedia. Thanks for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the Newcomers help page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, you can just type {{helpme}} on your user page, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

Two other details: First, you can sign your posts on discussion (non-article) pages by typing ~~~~. This produces a signature letting everyone else know who wrote the comment. Also, you may want to take note of the edit summary box that appears below the editing area: you can put a short description of your changes there. You may want to mark it as a minor edit if it's something like fixing a typo. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my talk page. -- stillnotelf is invisible 06:11, 10 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] James Robinson

Hi Robbo James. I have reverted your edits to James Robinson because it appears as if you may have added an entry about yourself. Please contact me on my talk page, and I will be glad to help you if your proposed article meets the notability requirements. Andrewjuren(talk) 18:07, 10 April 2006 (UTC)

You have re-added the informaton to the article without addressing the notability requirements. Your addition has been removed. Please do not add it again without demonstrating the notability of the person in question first. A good place to present an argument for including the information would be on the talk page of the article. — Saxifrage 17:39, 11 April 2006 (UTC)

Robbo james, thanks for your reply on my talk page. I have to agree with Saxifrage. Please provide some details (such as links to online newspaper articles featuring James Robinson) and we can move from there. I'm glad to help walk you through the steps of creating an article, but we'll need some references first. Andrewjuren(talk) 21:03, 11 April 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for your reply. Okay, so let's start the article on James Robinson (surfer) and see what you have. Click on this blue link, then click on "edit this page" and start typing in the box provided. There is a link from the page on editing help, but emphasis and headings can be added later, at least start with some good content. Andrewjuren(talk) 21:53, 17 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] James Robinson (surfer)

Hi Robbo,

To start, could you please sign your messages on my talk page with four tildes (~~~~); that will automatically leave your name and the current UTC time. As for citing articles, a good guide is WP:CITE. It should look something like this (look at the source using "edit this page"):

Text of the article.[1] Continue text of the article.

Later in the page, add a References section using ==References==, and add <references/>. it will look something like this;

[edit] References

  1. ^ Tim Author. The title of the book.

Let me know what it looks like and remember to use the "Show preview" button when experimenting with articles. Andrewjuren(talk) 21:28, 30 April 2006 (UTC)

  • You still haven't added any references to the James Robinson (surfer) article. It's been nearly a month! I'll give you a little time to find some sources, but otherwise the article should be put up for deletion as unreferenced (original research). Andrewjuren(talk) 05:06, 26 May 2006 (UTC)
