Hi, I was just wondering how you generated that list of adjacent counties for all 50 states? Did you use a program to generate the list? Thanks.
Hi, just a quick not that I have transferred ψ10 from your account to that of Hephaestos (on Wikipedia:WikiMoney) for doing the electoral maps. --snoyes 08:49, 2 Jan 2004 (UTC)

[edit] Article Licensing
Hi, I've started a drive to get users to multi-license all of their contributions that they've made to either (1) all U.S. state, county, and city articles or (2) all articles, using the Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike (CC-by-sa) v1.0 and v2.0 Licenses or into the public domain if they prefer. The CC-by-sa license is a true free documentation license that is similar to Wikipedia's license, the GFDL, but it allows other projects, such as WikiTravel, to use our articles. Since you are among the top 1000 Wikipedians by edits, I was wondering if you would be willing to multi-license all of your contributions or at minimum those on the geographic articles. Over 90% of people asked have agreed. For More Information:
- Multi-Licensing FAQ - Lots of questions answered
- Multi-Licensing Guide
- Free the Rambot Articles Project
To allow us to track those users who muli-license their contributions, many users copy and paste the "DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual" template into their user page, but there are other options at Template messages/User namespace. The following examples could also copied and pasted into your user page:
- Option 1
- I agree to multi-license all my contributions, with the exception of my user pages, as described below:
- DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual
OR
- Option 2
- I agree to multi-license all my contributions to any U.S. state, county, or city article as described below:
- DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual
Or if you wanted to place your work into the public domain, you could replace "DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual" with "MultiLicensePD". If you only prefer using the GFDL, I would like to know that too. Please let me know what you think at my talk page. It's important to know either way so no one keeps asking. -- Ram-Man (comment| talk)

[edit] January 15 Seattle meetup
Just wanted to let you know we are planning another Seattle meetup on January 15, 2005. We're trying to get a sense of who will attend, so please drop by that page & leave a note. -- Jmabel | Talk 00:49, Dec 23, 2004 (UTC)
[edit] Main namespace cleanup
In an effort to clean up the main namespace, I've moved your old userpage to User:RobLa/old, as there's some edit history you might want to keep. Otherwise just delete it. --fvw* 12:14, 2004 Dec 31 (UTC)

[edit] Schulze Method
Dear Robla, you asked (1 Aug 2005): "Markus, why did you remove this link?" I removed that link because at that time, when it was added, that article, to which this link referred, didn't yet work. Markus Schulze 1 Aug 2005
[edit] U.S. presidential elections
Hi there:
I appreciate you chiming in on the minimum PV % issue, even though you undercut my side. <rueful grin /> Anyway, I was wondering if you'd like to weigh in on some issues:
- Should there be some sort of cutoff for an individual to be displayed in the elections results tables (on the individual pages)? (This applies only to people who get 0 electoral votes; everyone who gets an electoral vote should be included.) If so, should it be a minimum PV %age? If so, what should that minimum %age be?
- How many decimal places should appear in the PV %age?
- Should we break out "write-ins" if they exceed the minimum PV %age?
- Do you know of a better, more accurate source than Leip's Atlas for sourcing the PV information?
Also, if you know of any other users who might want to weigh in, please contact them or let me know so that I can contact them.
Basically, I'd just really, really like to get some standards established for the results tables.
Any help you can give would be appreciated.

- Sorry to reply to myself, but I've just created a section for this discussion on Talk:U.S. presidential election, 2004. If you'd like to reply there, that'd be excellent.
Thanks, RobLa, for your comments. I found what you and NoSeptember had to say enlightening.

[edit] Palouse
Rob, in the Palouse article you say: "Washington, Idaho, and Oregon," but, in the list of "counties" in the Palouse, no Oregon counties are listed. How can that be? WikiDon 16:48, 3 September 2005 (UTC)

Greetings, RobLa! Please accept this message as an invitation to categorize your user page in the category Category:Wikipedians in Washington and removing your name from the Wikipedia:Wikipedians/Washington page. [edit] Voting system is featured
Finally, voting system has become a featured article!
I want to thank you for the work you've done on the article over time. I see you've been editing this article ever since 2002, when you helped create the original version of the article. So it's your featured article too. Nice work! rspeer 20:05, 6 December 2005 (UTC)

- Yep. I read Pareto efficiency yesterday with acceptance, then puzzlement & disbelief. Fortunately a source complete with p. number was given at the bottom. I just happened to have the book on my shelf and corrected the last sentence of the lead (with a "no" and "strictly preferred"). Not the first time either. Multiply that by many millions, many readers, & Wiki ethics, and you see some remarkable results. BW, Thomasmeeks 20:57, 13 June 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Meetups, events, local chapters
Hi Rob,
There's currently some renewed discussion about whether and how to set up [a] US wikimedia chapter[s]. Among other things this could help better organize meetups, gatherings at large events and cons, and local outreach. I'm notifying people who have been actively involved in local meetups; if you are interested, there is a quiet mailing-list and a meta-page on the topic... both of which could use input and ideas. +sj + 17:22, 17 June 2006 (UTC)
[edit] The Joe Lieberman article
Hi there.
You seem to be a "cooler head." I'm fine with the alterations you made to make the article fair to both sides, including changing some of my language. LionO seems to be intent on removing true and relevant facts from the article. I ask for help in trying to keep the facts in, even though LionO seems to want nothing incovenient to JL in the article. If you look at his first round of edits, they were outrageous. This time, they were less so, until he just removed facts again.
Thanks,
-KP 04:28, 2 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Reversion of 2004 US presidential election
You're right, I'm sorry for the reversion. I did not realize that the faithless elector made a typo. Since the issue has already been solved I see no need to explain it anywhere.
