ROBIN CRAIG Reality Show Segment Producer

Robin Craig was born and raised in Houston, Texas. She graduated from high school magna cum laude and was a member of the National Honor Society. She studied business administration at Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas, and later graduated from Columbia School of Broadcasting. She went to modeling school and took acting classes finding early on that she was very interested in the entertainment profession.

Robin began working as a night club DJ (disc jockey) while she attended broadcasting school and later became a radio DJ upon graduation. She immediately went into television after being one of 16 people selected from an audition of over 4,000 to work as a VJ (video jockey) on TV5, a local live music video station based in Houston. After six months, the station went national via cable and Robin had over 5-1/2 million viewers! After two years, Robin quit her exciting job at Hit Video USA to move to Nashville, Tennessee, where she hosted 3 local television shows (Nashville Future Stars, TV Swap Shop, and TV Home Listings). She was in a number of TV commercials, industrials and music videos and she hosted the Sam Sneed Pro-Celebrity Golf Tournament for 8 years. Robin’s favorite on-camera part was playing a televangelist in an independent film entitled Laughing Boy where she sang and played her keyboard, something that was not included in the original script!

While in Nashville, casting fell in Robin’s lap. Robin used to say, “I spend too much money on my hair and nails, don’t waste me behind the camera!” Well, she found that she liked working behind the scenes as well, and she became a Casting Director, Location Scout and Location Manager for film and television.

When Robin returned to Houston in the early 90’s, she continued her work and honed her skills. She was part of a group that cast 6,000 extras for one day of filming in the movie Tin Cup which featured Kevin Costner, Don Johnson, Rene Russo and Cheech Marin. She also enjoyed working on The Evening Star, the sequel to Terms of Endearment, which featured Shirley MacLaine and Jack Nicholson. Robin has worked on a number of made-for-television films, including Hope which was Goldie Hawn’s directorial debut, and The Con, featuring Rebecca DeMornay and William H. Macy.

In the mid-90’s, Robin was hired as the Audience Producer and warm-up act on MGM’s nationally syndicated TV show, The Bradshaw Difference. She became accustomed to working 12-hour days and her reputation grew as the girl who could “talk the stripes off a zebra.”

Robin put together several acting workshops after seeing a need for Texas actors to perfect their audition skills. She wanted to see Texas talent become more competitive with actors in LA, Chicago and New York, and her workshops have been very successful. Her enthusiasm for the entertainment profession is highly contagious, and everyone who knows Robin says she is clear, concise and NEVER runs out of energy. She’s a natural motivator!

During the past seven years, Robin has worked as a Producer for Texas Justice, Judge Alex and Cristina’s Court, three nationally syndicated court TV shows owned by Twentieth Television, a division of Fox. Last season, she was the Coordinating Producer for Cristina’s Court. Robin has truly enjoyed this work because she is a Paralegal, and the shows deal with real small claims court cases and real people. Her stories are endless and her experiences are hysterical.

Lastly, Robin is a writer and motivational speaker who enjoys entertaining and sharing her stories. Anyone who knows her can attest to the fact that this girl has something to say and a beautifully articulate way of saying it! If you have the opportunity to be in her presence, you will undoubtedly learn a lot from her 20+ years in “the business,” and you will be motivated to accomplish your own goals!
