Rob Dobbs is Southern California native and all around one stop art dept. Prop Master and Fabricator, Production Designer, Art Director, Set Dresser, Creative Consultant and has even done stunt work, stunt driving, special effects, weapons and pyro. Has worked on over 500 film, tv and print productions.
Towards the end of the 1980's Rob started work in motion pictures and television as a bit actor along with a series of print and commercial work for Jordache jeans. Bit parts in tv shows like Parker Lewis Can't Lose, Ferris Bueller (tv series), 90210 and Melrose Place lead to small roles in films such as Delirious with the late John Candy, Rocky 5 as a Russian reporter (left on the editing floor alongside Mark and Brian of LA radio station 95.5 KLOS fm) all the way up to Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith and the ad campaigns featuring stormtroopers along side his good friend John Bush.
Is rarely credited for his work but has worked on projects such as the bone cages in "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest", Harry Osborne's Sky Stick in "Spiderman 3", Barricade the police car in "Transformers" and a personal favorite "Serenity" in which he was involved with many of the films props. Has worked as a consultant for various tv shows including Heroes, Reno 911, and the live action Star Wars tv series pilot.
In the mid 1990's ran the art dept for Roger Corman at the now defunct Concord New Horizons Venice Beach Califormia studio. There he met good friends Robert Hooven, Jess Brolin (son of James Brolin) and B. Scott O'Malley (Bleak Future).
Has one brother with a genious IQ.
Mother Katherine dated one of the Beach Boys in high school.
Is one of a two people to be credited as Clone Troopers in Star Wars Episode III outside the main cast.
Favorite band is the Jesus and Mary Chain.
Spent two years as a fire fighter with the California Department of Forestry
