Talk:Roberto Luongo
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
I'm watching this page. Don't try anything. You know who you are.--Planetary 05:06, 3 March 2007 (UTC)
- Actually now that I think about it, there are others who can do this much better than I. Unwatching...
Slightly edited the section pertaining to Luongo's time with the Canucks thus far to more of a neutral position; after all, this is Wikipedia, not the canucks.com message forum. I'm a very big Luongo fan and an even bigger fan of the Canucks, but let's not get carried away, Wikipedia should remain as unbiased and fair as possible... CanuckGod 14:38, 17 March 2007 (UTC) P.S. Also added information on Luongo hitting the 40 win mark. CanuckGod 14:39, 17 March 2007 (UTC)
Shouldn't it be that he is chasing Broduer's win record now? ;) 71.172.240.136 16:43, 8 April 2007 (UTC)
- So much for the record now though.

[edit] Regarding a statement
"In a random survey of 5000 people, 80% of the pollers thought Luongo was the best goaltender in the NHL"
- I am having trouble with the statement. The statement, as introduced, stated 500 people, with 75% support, then it changed to 80% support, then it changed to 5000 people surveyed. As far as I can tell, the statement was introduced into the article here [1], and I can't find a source to substantiate the various edits to this statement, or even the statement itself. As such, I have to say this statement has to go until someone comes up with the source. ThePointblank 13:39, 20 April 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Not related to this article but...
Can we persuade Jimbo and the admins to redirect this article to God? The Canucks just won Game 7 of the 1st round in the Stanley Cup Playoffs!!! X) --Jw21/PenaltyKillahtalkGO'NUCKSGO!! 04:15, 24 April 2007 (UTC)
- Come on now. I'm just as happy that the Canucks finally won a series, but it was only the first round. We got people here calling for them to win the Cup, or at least make the Finals. When Luongo does that, then there will be a good case to redirect God to Luongo. Kaiser matias 04:28, 24 April 2007 (UTC)
god I love this goalie!! -Leigh

- Oops, god messed up on that last goal (by Scott Niedermayer) and we won't go into the real reason, why he was late for the overtime. No, we better not add that to the article. GoodDay 22:04, 7 May 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Why Sabourin played Game 5 of the Ducks series
I can't find a source and as such I know it can't be added to the page, but I do believe Luongo had diarrhea and that was why he had to sit out. I read this in a paper but sadly I don't remember which paper or when. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 24.85.9.71 (talk) 05:36, 10 May 2007 (UTC).
- I've properly sourced it from the Vancouver Sun. It is one of the worst kept secrets during the playoffs now that Roberto had to go to the washroom in overtime. ThePointblank 04:12, 16 June 2007 (UTC)
Sorry for reverting that edit earlier. I haven't read the article, and didn't know that it had been published. Perhaps if someone included a reference to that, it would keep it from being reverted as I myself did, because a lot of people have not had the chance to read the article. [edit] World Junior Championships
- Anyone want to take a stab at adding some sentences about his world junior championship play in 1998 and 1999? Canuckle 22:23, 6 September 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Ancestry
Does anybody know where Luongo's family is from? The name sounds Italian or Spanish it would be interesting to know. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.207.51.3 (talk) 03:29, 14 October 2007 (UTC)
- His parents came over from Italy, as it says in this interview. Should probably be put into the page. Kaiser matias 04:58, 14 October 2007 (UTC)
Probably not unbiased and neutral to portray Gabriela Luongo as a future Team Canada all star. Though this little angel does have the genes for it. !!24.77.37.48 (talk) 17:01, 28 March 2008 (UTC)
[edit] 18 years old ?
Says he was 18 years old when he joined the Val d'or Foreurs. I believe it might have been a typo. 15 years old might be more right given that he was born in 1979 and joined the Foreurs for the 1994-1995 season. --Tibrin 14:46, 20 October 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Picture conflict
I reverted the decision to change the picture from Roberto_Luongo.jpg to Roberto_Luongo_2007a.jpg in the info box, given that the previous picture chosen is a far better resolution, and therefore, better suited to head the page. Because this is a matter of opinion, I decided to start this discussion for anyone who disagrees. Orlandkurtenbach (talk) 07:06, 20 April 2008 (UTC)
