[edit] Dates?

Does anyone have dates when RVY joined and left the CoS, and when he did editing on Mission:Earth? Seems to me that these would help put the article in context -- how long he was in, how long after his editing experience he left... -- Antaeus Feldspar 22:58, 20 Apr 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Category:Scientologists

A person either is a scientologist or not. RVY is not a scientologist even if he once was and even if he still claims to be. --AI 20:24, 23 Jun 2005 (UTC)

How would you know this Al, especially the part, "even if he still claims to be?" Just wondering. Dwain 21:56, Jun 23, 2005 (UTC)
"This category is for people who are publicly known as members or former members of the Church of Scientology." Don't go past your misunderstoods, AI. =) -- Antaeus Feldspar 23:16, 24 Jun 2005 (UTC)
My comment was actually about saying "even if he still claims to be" if someone claims to be something they should know whether they are or not. But you implied that you know he isn't even if he claimed he was. That was what my "How would you..." comment was aimed at. Dwain
Yes; my comment was another reply to AI, not a reply to your reply. My point was simply that, even if AI was the Pope of Scientology and had the power to excommunicate anyone from Scientology as he chose, he could not go back and rewrite history and erase the many years that RVY had been not only a Scientologist but a Scientologist trusted with major duties within the Church. Since the category description clearly includes former members as well as current members, AI has already admitted that he belongs in the category. -- Antaeus Feldspar
I'm terribly sorry, I thought you were Al. Ooops!!! When you said, "Don't go past your misunderstoods, AI." I thought you were signing off as Al. I'm very sorry. My dyslexia strikes again. Peace. Dwain 03:25, Jun 26, 2005 (UTC)
RVY was for years an active member of Scientology and this played a big part in his biography. Therefore the category Scientologist is adequate. (Also in other cases people with several religious affiliations in the course of their lifes are in more than one category). --Irmgard 19:14, 25 Jun 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Notability

I consider the edits [1] by Justanother to be an example of bad faith. A simple google search shows his notability, and also that he authored that book. [2] --Tilman 19:11, 23 May 2007 (UTC)

Additionally, RVY has authored an article for Quill and Der Spiegel, was interviewed by Focus, and appeared on german TV. In his scientology period he exposed the SS past of Paul Dickopf. There are large DA packs on him. --Tilman 19:11, 23 May 2007 (UTC)
