Did this guy have a middle name? Because it needs something to disambiguate it from Robert M. Hanson, another WW2 aviator. —wwoods 23:43, 28 September 2006 (UTC)

Fixed. (But the other guy should be Robert Hanson (Marines), unless it is shown he is generally known with the initial. Hunting down for titles (even when dab'n is needed) middle initials that aren't generally used violates WP:MOS, and results in annoying titles.)

[edit] Exact nature of their "first"

I don't think there were US bombers in combat in Europe before WWII, so i removed

during the Second World War ...

I removed

... and then return to the United States

because it is extraneous to that sentence -- and in fact to his bio at all, unless his experience in the fund drive is going to be included.
