Hi. I am curious in knowing if Gray was the last Canadian to die during World War 2, and perhaps even the last person to die during the war? Does anyone know if he was or wasn't? I am also interesting in knowing if he was the last Canadian to be awarded the Victoria Cross. Thanks. Capt.Nero

I doubt that he was the last Canadian to die in WWII but he was the last recipient of the Victoria Cross in WWII. --† Ðy§ep§ion † Speak your mind 15:42, 19 September 2006 (UTC)

A documentary "The Last Raid of Hampton Gray" says he was the last Canadian to die in the war. I am interested in why the Japanese erected a memorial to him, being the only foreign soldier to receive such recognition.

I would assume that it was the Canadian govt which arranged and erected the memorial, rather than the Japanese. Grant65 | Talk
