Talk:Robert Culliford
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Strangely enough, the information here seems to contradict the one found on the William Kidd page, which names Robert Culliford as the first Pirate Captain Kidd came upon. Anyone knows more about either of them?

- Both are correct. Culliford mutnied and stole Kidd's first ship, and the first pirate that Kidd went after when he was a "pirate hunter" was Culliford. Later on, Culliford took much of Kidd's crew. They had many contacts. -Vina 19:27, 20 Sep 2004 (UTC)
The statement that Kidd pirated the Quedagh Merchant is inaccurate, as Kidd took the ship legally. Although it was an East India Company ship, and therefore usually off-limits, it was flying French colors and presented Kidd with French papers when he came alongside. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 209.205.27.90 (talk • contribs)
