[edit] All stat, no bio
Hi. This article can't remain as it stands in its present form. Proportionately, statistics far outstrip biography (and the above template tells you that's what it's supposed to be). The lack of hard content is a prime reason for the "unreferenced" tagging, and will have to be addressed. I intend to return to this in the near future to carry out an overhaul. Thanks. [edit] Liverpool v. Chelsea, August 19, 2007
Hi. I understand why this page has been semi-protected today. Also that the incident in the above match probably deserves to be included in the article (time will tell). However, it is not a current event when a match has in fact ended and there is a full explanation by the officials as to the facts of the main incident in question during the match. I have removed that tag as incorrect for the time period I am now editing in.
There were two statements contained in the first draft of the incident which were borne of opinion and not neutrally written, therefore I have changed those to reflect a detached and unemotional view of events, which needs to be maintained in a biographical article. Whatever individual editors might think of the incident, and of its handling by the officials, it must be seen from a neutral standpoint within the Wikipedia article.
In addition, I have wikified the incident per the MoS. Thanks. Ref (chew)(do) 20:51, 19 August 2007 (UTC)
- Re: the above match and subsequent edit(s) to the article. Who says the penalty award was "controversial"? As I have stated above, if individual editors think it was controversial, that's their opinion(s). And personal opinions have no place in the description of events. So NPOV has been restored and will hopefully be maintained. Thanks. Ref (chew)(do) 22:24, 19 August 2007 (UTC)

- OK, yes, so it was controversial - Keith Hackett confirms that by his subsequent actions in withdrawing the referee from one weekend's fixtures. However, you simply can't go about describing Styles' actions in such over-emotive terms ("disgraceful" is as opinionated a description as you'll ever hear, and doesn't belong in an encyclopedia). That's been corrected where found. Thanks. Ref (chew)(do) 14:06, 20 August 2007 (UTC)
