[edit] Accidents/Incidents
On April 4, 2001 a Roblex Aviation DC-3A (built in 1942, c/n 4986, Registration N19BA), while on a training flight taking off from Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport crashed into the water. This is the description provided for Aviation Safety Network:
"The DC-3 was being used for a training flight out of San Juan-Luis Munoz Marin Airport to practice ILS approaches. After performing a touch-and-go on Runway 10, apparently both engines failed. The crew ditched the plane in the laguna La Torrecilla, one mile East of the airport." Credit goes to Harro Ranter [1], (see pictures of the aircraft in the water).
Both pilots exited the aircraft safely.
