Robin Rigg Wind Farm is a 180 MW development under construction, which will be Scotland's first offshore wind farm, sited at Robin Rigg, a sandbank midway between the Galloway and Cumbrian coasts in the Solway Firth. 60 Vestas V90-3MW wind turbines are planned as well as offshore electrical substation with helicopter deck. When completed, the development will provide enough electricity for about 150,000 households annually.[1][2]
[edit] Foundations
The turbine foundations, each weighing 280 tonnes consist of a steel monopile 50m long and 4.3 diameter. As well as the 60 turbine foundations there will be two substation foundations.
