[edit] Music
Maxwell was introduced to the guitar at an early age, with a majority of his family excelling in the instrument.
During his teens Maxwell expanded his musical horizon by taking to percussion instruments, specialising in the drums.
Upon moving to Newcastle University Maxwell was invited to join a local band by the name of 'A Rising Tide.' This would be the kickstart of Maxwell's musical career. His work with A Rising Tide and smaller side projects earned Maxwell noticable praise from Michael Beinhorn. With reputation on his side Maxwell was drafted in by a host of larger name bands to produce and mix their music, including synthesising Maximo Park's second full length album Our Earthly Pleasures.
More recently, Maxwell has become profficient in both the Piano and Bass Guitar and plays the latter for Nottingham based band Zastrozzi.
He occasionally works alongside brother Rowan in music production in providing drum backings, most noticeably for Radio 1 hit "Santiam."[2]
[edit] Novels
Maxwell has had five published works, the two critically aclaimed mentioned early, and three lesser works which as of yet have failed to attract the same praise as his initial two. These three are; "The Secret Diary of Anne Boleyn", "The Queen's bastard" and "Virgin." [3]
[edit] Academia
Maxwell is compounding his reputation in the Music Industry by studying for a Bachelors degree at Newcastle University, majoring in Computing Science for Music Production.
He is also known to be working on developing a software project which will allow children to have easier access to music with lead SuperCollider architect, James McCartney.
