Robin Foenander

Robin Foenander is an Australian musician and broadcaster. He was born in Colombo, Sri Lanka.

Rob Foenander comes from a distinguished musical family from Sri Lanka. His uncle was Cliff Foenander, Sri Lanka's pioneering international star who achieved fame with The Faboulous Echoes in Las Vegas and South East Asia.. Rob Foenander's family migrated to Australia where Rob felt the music business was his goal. He began recording songs and performing in Melbourne.

Rob Foenander released his first CD in Melbourne, Australia. “Heaven Sent”, Robs Foenander's first CD release was a success in Australia and in South Asia.Three songs from the 'Heaven Sent' CD made the No. 1 spot with the Sri Lanka Broadcasting Corporation, the oldest radio station in South Asia, between 2003 – 2005. In 2005, Rob Foenander was awarded the Best Expatriate Male Performer by the SLBC as part of the Sri Lankan Originals Awards.

Foenander has also collaborated with Australian musicians Desmond Kelly and Gary Ellis who have released music CDs in Melbourne.

Foenander is also a successful Australian broadcaster - he presents his own radio show 'Sri Lankan Aussie Breakfast' program on Tuesday mornings on 88.3 Southern FM radio in Melbourne. The program with music, news and views has proved to be popular in the suburbs of Melbourne. He has interviewed the Australian folk icon Keith Potger among a number of celebrities.

Rob Foenander has collaborated with the international folk singer, Keith Potger who was a founder member of 'The Seekers' folk group from Australia and founded the New Seekers pop group in the UK. Foenander released a country single, 'Further Down The Road' in 2007 - the CD featured harmonies with Keith Potger.

'Further Down the Road' has been entered in the 2008 Tamworth Country Music Awards Vocal Collaboration & APRA song of the year section.
