Robin Ellis (born January 8, 1942 London) is an English actor who is best remembered as having starred in both Poldark mini-series on television, playing Captain Ross Poldark. He also appeared in Fawlty Towers, Cluedo, The Good Soldier and Elizabeth R. He was educated at the independent Highgate School in Highgate in North London. He is the author of a book called Making Poldark, about the series. He is married and lives in Southern France. His brother is the actor Jack Ellis.
