Roberts (surname)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Roberts derives from the Saxon/Norman given name Robert, meaning "bright fame" – from the Germanic elements "hrod" meaning fame and "beraht" meaning bright. Robert may also mean "Son of Robert".[citation needed] The name is common in both England and Wales, with the biggest concentration by far occuring in North Wales. It is uncommon in Scotland and Ireland.
