Roberto Rexach Benítez

Roberto Rexach Benítez, the tenth President of the Senate of Puerto Rico (1993-1996), has served as a member of Puerto Rico's House of Representatives under the Popular Democratic Party (PDP) and as a member of the Senate under the pro-statehood New Progressive Party (NPP). He has distinguished himself as a reformer of legislative processes and the author of many laws pertaining to education.
Prior to his legislative career, he was the first director of the University of Puerto Rico's Arecibo Regional College. He currently serves as an educational consultant and writes a weekly column for El Vocero, Puerto Rico's second most widely read daily newspaper. He lives in Hatillo, Puerto Rico with his wife, attorney Ada Urdaz.
