Roberta Bondar Public School is an elementary school in Ottawa, Ontario from kindergarten to grade eight with a dual stream of English and Immersion. Construction began on the school in the Fall of 1995 and was completed in early August of 1996. The school first opened its doors to regular classes on Tuesday,September 3, 1996. Currently, over 850 students are registered in various programmes.

The current Mascot of Robert Bondar Public School is Buzz Lightyear. He unfortunately retired due to breaking. Now the name the BONDAR BLAZERS, for which the logo is a star. The school colours used to consist of purple, black and grey but now are purple, silver\grey, and navy blue.

Roberta Bondar is a very athletic school and has two gyms. They have won the Intermediate Boys Regional volleyball tournament in 2005-2006 and the Jr. Boys Regional Basketball Tournaments 1999- 2003 coached by Mr Smith. Prior to this, in 2005, the Intermediate Boys Soccer won silver in the Regional Tournament, and so did the Intermediate Boys Volleyball. Roberta Bondar has also had athletes go onto national success, such as Joshua Brown in squash. School teams name is Bondar Blazers. The boys volleyball team went to the 2007 Provincials in Halton and finished tied in 13th place, losing to S.A. Cawker.Also the boys volleyball's success didn't end there with them winning the Regional Tournament against Vincent Massey P.S, they advanced to the Board finals were they lost a long fought battle against Glashan P.S. The Boys Soccer team made it all the way to the finals in the Regional Soccer Tournament, losing to to Glashan P.S in penalty shots. The boys school soccer team was coached by a wonderful and enthusiastic Mr. Smith.

Bondar has many after\before school activities such as; Art Club, Junior&Senior Band, Badminton Club, Various Sports Teams& Intermurals. Dances are usually held around holidays such as; Valentines Day or Halloween, the student council will organize the festivities. To get the kids into the school spirit, Spirit Days are held.

Also many of its students have been imparted with more than enough knowledge to successfully enter and progress in the IB program at Colonel By S.S. which is an academically rigorous program which puts one years ahead of the students in the regular high school stream.

Bondar has an outstanding music program, Bondar offers a range of instruments such as clarinets, saxophones, trumpets and many others.

Mrs J Stewart is the music teacher. Roberta Bondar has a year musical that started in 2006-2007 the musical production music man junior and in 2007-2008 they are doing Annie junior. We offer all types of music instruments such as the bass clarinet, the clarinet, the flute, the piccolo, the trumpet, trombone, tuba, euphonium, drums\percussion which needs lessons and the bass guitar also needs lessons. Each instrument has a maximum amount, there are only 1 tuba euphonium 2 bass clarinets usually 5-10 bass guitars and percussionists and 0-1 oboe and 1 piccolo.If you cant afford the instruments you could take written music, Notes and how to read it and the importance of music.
