Robert "Mack" McCormick

Robert "Mack" McCormick (born August 3, 1930 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania) is a pioneering musicologist and folklorist.

McCormick in the late 1950s "discovered" and recorded musicians like Mance Lipscomb and Lightnin' Hopkins, and reimagined the lives of dead ones, like Robert Johnson and Henry Thomas. He has written dozens of magazine articles and album liner notes. He has worked for the Smithsonian Institution and has assembled one of the most extensive private archives of Texas musical history in existence.
