Robert Winston (coach)

Robert Winston was a head coach of the University of Georgia Bulldogs football team during the 1894 season. He was the first coach of the Bulldogs to receive a salary. Winston was British and had previously coached the Blackheath Harriers rugby team in England. After moving to the United States, Winston helped train other American football teams such as Yale University, Amherst College, University of Rochester and Syracuse.
During his single season, Wintson's team compiled a record of 5 wins, 1 loss and 0 ties including a win against the Auburn Tigers.
