Robert Wincer
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Robert Wincer (born April 2, 1952) was an English cricketer. He was a left-handed batsman and a right-arm medium-fast bowler who played for Derbyshire between 1978 and 1980.
Having initially played for Leicestershire's Second XI in 1975, Wincer found himself signing a contract for Derbyshire in 1978. He played extensively throughout the 1978 season, including in the B&H Cup final, having seen a first-class debut earlier in the season against the Leicestershire team he had first played with three years previously.
He continued into the 1979 season, and played with Derbyshire against a team of touring Indians. Despite having a steady season come 1980, he never played again for Derbyshire, and found himself out of both the first team and the Second XI by 1980.
Wincer was a tailend batsman for the Derbyshire team, often partnering team-mates Alan McLellan or Mike Hendrick in that role.
Robert Wincer is now a Mathematics Teacher and Form Tutor for class 9H at Woodhouse Grove School, West Yorkshire (England).
