Robert Victor Walling (1890-1976): Cornish soldier, journalist, and poet. A member of the Territorial branch of the Royal Garrison Artillery, he served in France during the First World War. It was during spells in military hospitals that he produced his illustrated manuscript magazine An Houlsedhas ('The West') in the Cornish language. In peacetime he worked as a journalist with a special interest in maritime affairs. He was a member of Gorseth Kernow under the Bardic name of Scryfer an Mor ('Writer of the Sea').
