Robert V. Somers

Robert Vance Somers is an American Republican politician from South Carolina, best known as the Republican nominee for the United States Senate during 1968 election. He lost to the long-time Democratic incumbent Sam Ervin by 60.6 - 39.4% margin. This year Ervin won his last term and retried in 1974.
