Robert Trudel is a controversial entrepreneur and administrator in Shawinigan, Quebec. [1]
He has been the general manager and the main spokesperson for La Cité de l'Énergie, since its foundation. [2] [3] La Cité de l'Énergie is a theme park based on local industrial history, with a 115 metre high observation tower.
A number of observers give Trudel and La Cité de l'Énergie some credit for an overall growth in the local hospitality industry in the last decade.
However, he is also known for making controversial declarations, which earned him the reputation of being a loose cannon.
He considered being a candidate for Mayor of Shawinigan in 2005, but eventually decided not to run.
