Robert Sidney Ladds

The Rt Rev. Robert Sidney Ladds is the current Suffragan Bishop of Whitby [1]. He was born on 15 November 1941 and educated at Canterbury Christ Church University [2]. Ordained in 1981[3] he began his career with a curacy in Hythe, Kent [4] and was then successively Chaplain to the Bishop of Blackburn, Vicar of Bretherton and finally (before his elevation to the Episcopate) Archdeacon of Lancaster. A keen gardener[5] he was a research chemist before becoming a clergyman.
