Robert Shmalo

Robert Shmalo (born November 2, 1977 in Cincinnati, OH) was an American ice dancer who competed from 1997-2003 with Kimberly Navarro. Prior to Shmalo's ice dancing career, he was a medalist at the United States Figure Skating Championships in the compulsory figures event. With Navarro, Shmalo was an altnerate for the 2002 Salt Lake City Olympics.[1] Navarro & Shmalo were coached by Inese Bucevica and their choreographers included Natalia Bestemianova.
Following Shmalo's skating career, he turned to law and currently works as an attorney with the international law firm of Weil, Gotshal & Manges in New York City. [2]
