Robert Reid (co-driver)

Robert Reid is a Scottish rally and motorsport personality. He was born on 17th February 1966 in Perth, Scotland.

During his career Reid has sat alongside many notable drivers including Robbie Head, Colin and Alister McRae but he is by far best known for his long and successful partnership with Richard Burns, during which they won the World Rally Championship in 2001.

Reids first stage rally was the 1984 Hackle Rally, a round of the Scottish Rally Championship.

His partnership with Richard Burns started in 1991 and lasted until 2003 when Richard retired from rallying on health grounds and subsequently died as a result of a brain tumour. During their time together, the pair entered into 103 World Rallies, achieving 277 stage wins and 34 podium finishes.
