[edit] Career
Perry studied engineering Seattle University and has taught yacht design at Evergreen State College.[1]
Through his career he has designed boats for many well recognized names in the yachting industry, such as Tayana, Cheoy Lee, Valiant, Baba, Ta Shing, Passport and Saga. In the 1970s and 1980s his designs were popular among Tiawanese boat builders, many of those early designs are heavy displacement boats.
In recent years he has had more focus on "performance cruisers", ocean going sailing yachts more geared towards better performance and moderate displacement. Such designs are notable in the successful yachts he designed for Saga Yachts.
Perry has recently been hired to design the latest yacht for Pacific Seacraft[2].
