Robert Owe-much

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Robert Owe-much (or Owemuch) is the lead character in the 1673 book The Floating Island by Richard Head, though he published it under the name of Frank Careless.

Owe-much finds a floating island he calls Scotia Moria.

It is possible, but totally unproven, that this island is the same one seen in the 1967 film Doctor Dolittle. Another set of floating islands were used as a sort of ship by Ravello in the 2006 novel Peter Pan in Scarlet.[citation needed]

[edit] In 'The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen'

In Alan Moore's graphic novels, Owe-much is stated to be a member of Prospero's Men, alongside Prospero, Ariel and Caliban from William Shakespeare's The Tempest and Christian from John Bunyan's The Pilgrim's Progress, but this group disbanded in 1690 after Christian left Earth to enter The Blazing World.
