Robert McAlpine, Baron McAlpine of Moffat

Robert Edwin McAlpine, Baron McAlpine of Moffat, Bt (23 April 1907 – 7 January 1990), grandson of Sir Robert McAlpine, 1st Baronet, was a British construction magnate who headed Sir Robert McAlpine Ltd.
He was made a life peer as Baron McAlpine of Moffat, of Medmenham in the County of Buckinghamshire in 1980.
McAlpine & Sons construction was the focus of the folk song "McAlpines Fusilers" written by Dominic Behan and most commonly performed by The Dubliners.
