Robert MacNaughton (born December 19, 1966 in New York City) is an American child actor, best known for his role as Elliott's brother Michael in Steven Spielberg's E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, for which he won a 1983 Young Artist Award as Best Young Supporting Actor in a Motion Picture.[1]
Following roles in I Am the Cheese and a few made-for-TV movies, he moved to Phoenix in 1994 to pursue a career in theater — with little success — and finally became a mail handler for the United States Postal Service in the late 1990s.[2][3] In September 2002, he married his longtime girlfriend Jennifer Butler,[4] with whom he also has a son, Noah.
